An utter disaster. That's the only way to describe what happened tonight. A complete and sodding utter disaster.
She'd told me, although be it rather briskly, under no ruddy circumstances was she attending. She claimed that she was going to keep Marietta company instead. I thought that one of Marietta's more brilliant ideas, to sit out the DA meeting, but I didn't tell Cho that. So I went, with a nervous Tony and a smug Terry.
And then they followed.
I've never seen a group of people turn from friendly to bleeding vicious so quickly. The outrage, the names, it was all bloody ridiculous. I understand why they didn't want Marietta there; hell, I didn't want her there either, but for them to treat Cho that way as well . . . Finnigan and that ruddy mouth of his. I was hacked off with him, the buggering bastard, and it would have become physical had Ginny and Dean not stepped in.
The only good thing that to come out of their appearance is that we learned more about why the DA meetings have to be held in secret from Hermione, Weasley, and Potter, not that I was wholly paying attention at the time. Whatever was said, it seemed to calm Tony down well enough, which is a miracle considering he was well on his way to giving himself a stroke whilst heading to the meeting tonight.
Terry, on the other hand, is another story. He was a right prick about Marietta and Cho to begin with when he thought that they were coming, and then when they showed up unexpectedly, he didn't try to conceal his annoyance. He hardly looked me in the eye all meeting and didn't even wait around for us once it was over; he tore off with Tony back for the common room. Bloody wonderful.
It was obvious the only reason that possessed Cho to come is around 5'1" and has flaming red hair. I've told her, reassured her repeatedly, that there's nothing there, that I love her, but it's of no use. She wouldn't even talk about it. Am I completely round the bend thinking that I can still have a friendship with my ex-girlfriend?
At least we got a good snogging in. Evidently my show of defending her honour is a turn-on.
Sod it. Better get used to being the contempt of the school, Corner. Shite.
